The description of project events written up here are only a small portion of the scores of creative ideas proposed and realized since 2010.
We are always open to new, interesting ideas for events or projects that will benefit our community. We are hoping that one or more of of the projects documented here will stimulate your thinking about wanting to help make them come to fruition by volunteering your brain, time, and/or money to see your favorite event launched. Monte Rio Spring Celebration, Egg Hunt & Games
The Spring Celebration Egg Hunt & Games are a very exciting and well attended event providing the Monte Rio Community Center patio/lawn for the preschool age kids and the larger area of the Koret Park for the elementary school age kids to hunt for eggs. Raw Egg Games will also take place in Koret Park.
The kids really get excited about the RAW EGG TOSS off of the Monte Rio Bridge. Come early to enter your raw egg contraption and try to hit the bulls eye under the bridge with an unbroken egg. There are Lots of Prizes and of course bragging rights.
Enjoy Fabulous Baked Goods, popcorn & drinks provided by the Monte Rio Parent's Organization, as a fund raiser for extra school programs.
There is also a Great Raffle offering prizes for the whole family from many local merchants and a special appearance of the Easter Bunny.
There are many volunteer opportunities for this event: Please contact Rhian Miller .

Dutch Bill Creek & River Clean Up Days (proposed)
The Friends want to sponsor annual Spring & Fall Clean-Up Days. The Friends would sponsor a way to get rid of trash that might normally cost money to dump and/or require a truck to transport. Coordinated with the local waste management company, we would reserve the boat dock area where residents would bring over their items. Cleaning up the blight (before it becomes such) helps to develop community spirit, responsibility and instills positive values.
Monte Rio Supper Club
The hugely popular monthly community dinner.
The supper club brings guest chefs, local musicians and lower river residents together for an evening of good food, entertainment and community outreach.
